This has been 3, years of planning: meetings with cardiff university students to design the pod, working with our incredible designers Naeem & Beth, and working with Lakeside primary school for the first pod to become a reality. We couldn’t have done this without the incredible support of everyone donating, attending our Bronwen's Wish events and fundraising on our behalf.
Lakeside was a special location for our first pod, as this was the Primary school Bronwen attended and where Bronwen worked for many years, supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
The opening of the pod was incredibly special; reflections on Bronwen’s time working at the school- remembered by all, her care for the students is unforgettable, beautifully described as “Bronny magic”. On the day, students and teachers had put together a beautiful and powerful video (see below) sharing their experiences and views of the Pod and the incredible difference it has made already. The way the pod has been designed, the materials, the detail. We had a performance from the school choir and the Pod was officially opened by Jayne Bryant (minister for mental health and early years) and Paul Parry (previous Welsh footballer).
Thank you for all of your continued support of our charity. We now move onto our second pod at Rhydypenau primary school.
